Since June 2022, the IRZ has been leading the implementation of the project ‘Technical Assistance to Support the Implementation of the Cross-Cutting Justice Strategy’ (in short ‘JUSTAL’). It was originally scheduled to end in July 2024, but due to the high demand, it was extended until January 2025. The beneficiary institutions are the Albanian Ministry of Justice and around 18 independent judicial institutions that are responsible for the implementation of the justice strategy.

The project supports the Ministry of Justice in optimising and implementing the so-called ‘Cross-Cutting Justice Strategy’, which is designed to ensure the implementation of the ongoing judicial reform and the involvement of relevant stakeholders. It also advises on various planned legislative amendments/harmonisation with the EU acquis and provides coaching for employees of the Albanian Ministry of Justice.
